Configuring for Network Connectivity


The E7495A/B can operate as a device on any compatible network. In order to be accessible on the network, certain information must be entered so the test set can communicate with other devices. Configuring the test set for network activity is performed by using the IP administrator located in the system utilities.

IP Administration Using DHCP

Perform this procedure to allow your test set to be integrated into an existing network that uses DHCP to dynamically assign an IP address. This procedure requires that you have the System Name (available from your network administrator).

Enter the name of the test set.
This is automatically assigned by the network administrator.

On [DHCP] select On.
An IP address and other network information will automatically be assigned if the Sys Name is recognized by the network.

Saves the current configuration and restarts the test set. DHCP will dynamically assign an IP address.

IP Administration Without DHCP

Perform this procedure to allow your test set to be integrated into an existing network that uses a technique other than DHCP for its IP address assignments.
